UK Young Artists contracted Paul Carroll Photography to document performances and installations specifically from participating UK artists during World Event Young Artists 2012. This international festival took place over 10 days in Nottingham during September 2012.
With contributions from over 60 young artists from the UK, exhibiting and performing at multiple venues each day it’s fair to say the project brief was challenging. We were however delighted with the diligence and dedication Paul showed. Paul equipped himself well from the outset, building good relationships with the programmers, technicians and venues so he was up to speed with events as arrangements sometimes changed over the course of the 10 days. Often thinking on his feet, Paul was versatile and proactive, making sure he got the photographs we wanted. Having been initially recommended by other members of the team I had no doubt his photography would be excellent and he didn’t disappoint in this regard either. His imagery not only recorded and documented the festival but also managed to encapsulate the flavour, fun and diversity of the event, which was great to see.
Paul’s work brought a level of professional imagery to the UKYA image bank, which we have been able to use as promotional material now and in the future. I would welcome the opportunity to employ Paul’s photographic expertise again and have no hesitation in recommending him.

We are close to completing a website that Paul has taken all the main shots for. As he is a trust worthy person I was very happy to pass on to our client directly. He arranged a shoot in their offices for the whole day, he was prompt and came well prepared for every eventuality and he got some great shots in quite a challenging environment. i.e. an office that didn’t have much natural light. My client was extremely happy with the price and turnaround, as they saw Paul’s shots on our web visuals within 48 hours.
The shots we received from Paul will also be used on any future printed marketing material my client wishes to produce, so the fact we had virtually no editing to do was fantastic. Often when we receive images, we have to spend ages colour correcting or cleaning them up, but this was all done for us which was great.

Paul has been hired as official photographer for several years for events arranged by the Community Engagement Team within Rushcliffe Borough Council. These include large events such as the Rushcliffe Community Partnership Community Awards and the Rushcliffe Partnership Showcase event as well as more low-key events such as the Rushcliffe Community Cohesion member’s meetings.
Paul offers an exemplary service. He arrives in good time to set up his equipment, assess the surroundings and checks requirements. He is discreet, and works quietly in the background when photographing speakers at conferences. He works well with members of the public, for example at the Community Awards when award winners need to be guided efficiently to be photographed in a limited amount of time before the next winner is announced ready to be photographed.
After events Paul is always prompt in providing copies of photographs via email, CD and facebook if required and I always have confidence he will produce the required results.

Paul has been hired by Nottingham Law School to photograph the School’s Student Prize Giving Ceremonies and Awards nights, Open Day and Fresher events as well as for portraits of the Dean and Vice Dean for use in our marketing material.
The shots Paul produced at the ceremony where students were presented with their awards and the reception that followed were fantastic. On arrival Paul provided expert advice on how the best shots could be achieved and from the shots he produced it was obvious he knew what he was talking about. The brief provided to Paul was fairly loose so it was very reassuring when Paul took control, setting up his equipment and preparing himself for the event in good time before guests started to arrive.
Paul took a wide range of excellent shots throughout the event in a number of different settings. Whether he was taking personal portrait shots of the students and their families or general shots of the environment, Paul managed to really capture the feeling and emotion of the event. He was professional, courteous and clearly highly competent in his field and I have no hesitation in recommending him.

We hired Paul to photograph staff for our company website following a recommendation from our web designer and from the initial meeting we were confident he would produce a fabulous portfolio of images. Paul didn’t disappoint.
Despite a lengthy shot list and ‘models’ coming and going as per the staff rota Paul made what could have been a very stressful day very enjoyable by putting everyone at ease and as a result we were absolutely delighted with the images received.

The Rushcliffe Business Partnership has commissioned Paul Carroll Photography’s Event Service to photograph our Annual Showcase Business Event for the last three years running.
On each occasion we were very impressed with the service provided; Paul not only captures great shots of all the important delegates and guest speakers but also importantly the open networking and stall holder interactions to create a holistic record of the day. Paul does this without being at all intrusive or disruptive of the day’s events, he’s polite, engaging, smartly presented, offers great customer service when presented with a change or challenging situation and he does it all with a smile on his face.
A small selection of images were ‘tweeted’ and ‘posted’ during our event, which was themed 21st century communication and a CD of all edited images is always provided in good time. The Councils’ graphic designers are always impressed with the results, which have been used in press releases as well as other marketing material including banners and flyers.
