With Leicester City FC flying high in the Championship virtually all season I’ve had the pleasure of photographing them a few times for my client Sky Bet. Having built a good relationship with many at the club, I was delighted to be involved in the Championship Trophy presentation party at their final game of the season, at home against Doncaster Rovers. Although Doncaster needed a result to avoid relegation nothing was going to spoil the Leicester party. In the glorious May afternoon sunshine, and in front of a packed house at the King Power Stadium, David Nugent duly slotted home a 75th minute penalty to get the party started. Commissioned to get PR shots for Sky Bet, the brief included action shots during the game, coverage of a cheque presentation by the club to the Text Ellis campaign at half time, and the all important post match trophy presentation and party. With an Access All Areas pass to join the players on the pitch, I was able to get right into the heart of the action and capture the natural and intimate shots my client wanted. The shots were wired for immediate press use and were used by a variety of media outlets, including in this article on the Mail Online. Catching up with my contacts at Sky later in the day to see what they thought of the pictures I was pleased with their feedback… “Cracking, just what we needed”.
