Commissioned for the 2nd year running this month we spent a week in the studio shooting the Nottingham Trent University Textile Design degree ‘look book’. With work from around 50 students needing to be captured in 5 days, we had just 30 minutes with each student to get high quality product shots of their work. The images will form the centre-piece of an A5 printed ‘look book’ showcasing the students work and will be displayed on the degree show’s website. Shooting on a range of materials, such as fine threads, paper, reflective surfaces, even glow-in-the-dark materials, and of all sorts of different shapes and sizes, presented a number of photographic challenges. We came prepared though, and with a load of different lighting set-ups including, soft boxes, a ring-flash and continuous lighting, together with a range of backgrounds, props for hanging materials and shooting the different heights we were able to captured each work the way the student wanted. All things considered it went pretty smoothly and a few more than a 1000 images were handed, categorised into individual folders and edited to look superb. You can check out the photography we did for them last year HERE and HERE.
